BOKA BAY ISLANDS & OLD TOWNS – Lady Of The Rocks, Perast and Kotor Old Towns
The deepest section of the Bay of Kotor (Bokokotorski Zaliv) has a long naval tradition and has harbored a strong naval fleet since the Middle Ages remains can be seen throughout the bay. It is a home to a number of magnificent UNESCO Protected Old Medieval Towns and Villages such as Kotor and Perast. Famous for its many breathtaking small islands throughout the Bay, usually holding a fortress or a church, the most famous one being the Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Skrpjela). Kotor Old Town, has been a Worlds Heritage Site since 1979. Narrow streets of this magnificent fortification built in the Venetian times are full of surprises around every corner and will leave you exploring for hours. Other than having a big number of squares and cathedrals such as Cathedral St Tryphon build all the way in 1166., Kotor Old Town has become a favorite place for local delicacies, galleries and shopping to anyone who visits.
What is the duration?
There are 3 options: Panoramic Tour (2h); Half Day Tour (4h) and Full Day Tour (8h).
Where does it start?
The tour begins from Tivat – Porto Montenegro – Pier 1. However we are happy to collect you anywhere on the Kotor Bay (extra charges may apply depending on time and distance).
What can I expect?
Panoramic tour(2 hours)
- 20 minutes Boat Ride along the historic Verige Strait, the narrowest section of the bay - only 340m wide at its narrowest point linking the open bay to the Iconic Lady of The Rocks Island
- 20 minute walk and historic tour around Our Lady of the Rocks island
- 30 minutes swimming, drinks and photo stop in front of the island
- 30 minute coastline tour to Kotor Old Town
- 20 minutes cruise back to Tivat
Half day tour
- 20 minutes boat ride along the historic Verige Strait, the narrowest section of the bay - only 340m wide at its narrowest point linking the open bay to the Iconic Lady of The Rocks Island
- 30 minutes walk and historic tour around Our Lady of the Rocks Island
- 40 minutes swimming, drinks and photo stop in front of the island
- 60 minutes Full Coastline Tour and swimming stop at Stari Mlini where the fresh water streams cross with the sea; (or extend the tour with a stop for lunch at Conte, Stari Mlini or Gallion restaurant)
- 60 minutes history tour and shopping around picturesque Kotor Old Town
- 30 minutes cruise back to Porto Montenegro, Tivat
Full day tour
- 20 minutes boat ride along the historic Verige Strait, the narrowest section of the bay - only 340m wide at its narrowest point linking the open bay to the Iconic Lady of The Rocks Island
- 30 minutes walk and historic tour around Our Lady of the Rocks Island
- 40 minutes swimming, drinks and photo stop in front of the island
- 1h 30 minutes stop for lunch with a spectacular view at Tramontana at Morinj or Captain's Village at Forte Rose, or for a truly unique experience stop in Catovica Mlini restaurant, where upon entering the cove with fresh water streams, transfer over to a fishing boat, which takes you down narrow meandering streams, under bridges to the breath-taking restaurant, fish farms and gardens in the Morinj valley
- 1h 30 minutes full coastline tour and swimming stop at Stari Mlini where the fresh water streams cross with the sea
- 2h history tour and shopping around picturesque Kotor Old Town
- 60 minutes travel to Conte Restaurant in Perast, a UNESCO World Heritage Old Town for sunset drinks overlooking Lady of The Rocks island
- 30 minutes cruise back to Porto Montenegro, Tivat
What else can I do?
Hire from the MWT office wakeboards and water-ski and take full advantage of the boat. (Available for Half and Full Day Tours with additional charges for equipment and fuel.)
What else can I do if I decide to extend the Panoramic or Half Day Tour?
There are many options to extend the tour and plan a magical night out – go for a walk or stay for dinner at Conte Restaurant over looking the islands in Perast, a UNESCO World Heritage Old Town or for a truly unique experience take a ride to Catovica Mlini restaurant in Morinj, moments from the island, where upon entering the cove with fresh water streams, transfer over to a fishing boat, which takes you down narrow meandering streams, under bridges to the breathtaking restaurant, fish farms and gardens in the Morinj valley (additional costs may apply of waiting time and transfer).
What should I bring?
Swimwear if you would like to swim. Flip-flops or shoes are a must when you are exploring the island. Food can also be catered on board the boat, menus available upon request. For Full Day Tours it is advised to bring a light jacket, as the weather gets cooler as the sun sets in the evening (blankets are provided upon request).
What else do I need to know?
Dress Code: Please note swimsuits and swimming trunks without a shirt are not acceptable attire on the island of Lady of the Rocks but casual beachwear is acceptable. Boating is an active entertainment and there is always a chance you may get wet. We are happy to provide waterproof ponchos if requested.
What is the best time to visit?
Lady of the Rocks peak season is busy with tourist boats until 4/5pm, it is advisable to visit early morning or at sunset. However having a private boat, the skipper can coordinate the best time to make sure you don’t have to deal with a big crowd on the island. (Out of hours access is also available for Lady of The Rocks for an additional fees.)
PRICE:

Included: 2 bottles of local wine or Prosecco, glasses, a traditional cheese and ham plate and/or fruit plate for every two persons and towels upon request.
Not Included: Additional choice of champagne, beer and wine. A full list of champagne, wine or other catering options are available upon request.
If you wish to extend the tour to lunch or dinner, it is not included in the price of the tour. Lunch or dinner packages are available at selected restaurants upon request.
Additional Costs:
For access to the church and museum there is a 1€ donation per person. (Please note the church and museum is closed from 7/7.30pm – special out of hours access available upon request, additional fees may apply and it must be organized in advance). If you would like to visit the church during working hour, it is recommended to start the tour earlier. For access in Kotor to the Maritime Museum there is a 4€ fee per person or Cathedral of St Typhon 2.50€ per person. There is also a donation of 1€ per person at the entrance of Kotor Old Town. If you wish to extend the tour to dinner, it is not included in the price of the tour. Dinner packages are available at selected restaurants upon request.
Additional Costs for Extended Panoramic or Half Day Tours:
- Perast & Conte Restaurant – there is no additional transfer cost, waiting time is billed at 35€ per hour
- Catavica Mlini, Morinj – Additional transfer cost 24€ and waiting time is billed at 35€ per hour
- Kotor Old Town - Additional transfer cost 104€ and waiting time is billed at 35€ per hour
